Can I make a claim under the PPI on my loan repayments - involuntary unemployment.?

Due to personal circumstances, I was no longer able to commit to shift work (child care issues as a sudden lone parent) and had my contract of employment terminated.

My employer's refused to/were unable to offer me part-time/fixed hours/alternativelocation etc and so my contract was terminated as I was no longer able to 5.00am starts as a single parent with a child of 7yrs old.

Would this be classed as "involuntary unemployment" for the purpose of make a claim under the Payment Protection Insurance on a personal loan I took out in August 2007 (4 payments remaining to clear the loan)?

Many thanks in advance.
Rennickelizabe, if I say I have been made redundant rather than had my contract termintated involuntarily, would that not be classed a fraud?

I would have to show/send the loan company proof of termination of employment and clearly redundancy is not the reason here.

My question is, whether having my contract terminated (because my employer could offer me no alternative to the current shifts/hours/location) is a valid form of involuntary unemployment, LIKE redundancy but not redundancy itself.

I hope that is clearer. Thank you.
And no, I don't need a loan....for all the spammers out there!

it depends on what your policy says i would say you were made redundant rather that involuntary as they may not pay out
