Camping in winter, in Victoria, Australia, no car?

Hello!
Me and my boyfriend would like to try a bit of camping this winter. Does anyone know of any good spots in Victoria, Australia, that are accesible by train/bus? Even if we have to take a taxi after the train or bus? I have my drivers licence but no car. Maybe you know of a company that allows P-platers to hire their cars?

Thanks!
We only want to go for 3 to 5 days.
Our budget is $500. Less spent the better. The car is not an option. Public transport is the choice now.

you will be able to get a bus down great ocean road, stopping anywhere you like. most towns along the way are small enough that you could get a good camping spot in a tourist park within walking distance of the town centre. Torquay, Lorne, or Apollo Bay would be fine. I doubt anyone will hire a car to P- Plater, could you borrow one from your parents? btw - make sure you have appropriate camping equipment for freezing temperatures!

Hi I would recommend you to actually travel by car as it will be easier. Of course travelling in Melbourne by Train or Bus is also fine.

You can actually try my idea, you can buy a car for $2000 there instead of renting. With a car you can travel any where you like and it is more convenience.

After your trip you can sell it off at $1700-$2000 so there is not much spending you will still get your money back.

There is another alternative, If you really want to travel by public transport I could actually help you in the itinerary wise. I plan everything for you at the price of S$100 and will plan within your budget.

If there is anything that you are not satisfy I can amend it. This is my e-mail: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Please provide me your country details, your budget, how many of you, what you actually plan to do in melbourne.
