Will the car sound louder if I dump the exhaust towards front of the car, help?

Hello, it is not a truck but a Camaro.

Right now the setup is headers, straight pipe, single in and dual out, just exhaust piping, no muffler, no cat.

it sounds good, but if I go to an exhaust shop and have him cut out a portion of exhaust towards the portion closer to the engine, would it sound louder or quieter than now?


-also where would the exhaust escape if there was no pipe leading out away from the car?
