Typically, when we talked about Sceptre, we’re talking about a new television or computer monitor. Today the company has announced the launch of a new dash camera designed to gather evidence in the event of an accident while you’re behind the wheel. The product is called the Carcam CCR2000.

The camera features a 120-degree wide-angle lens providing a wide field of view and an integrated G-sensor. That integrated G-sensor allows the camera to detect a collision and automatically begin recording. When the camera detects a collision, it also automatically locks the video file to prevent accidental erasure.
The camera stores video in full HD resolution to an including 8 GB SD card. Other hardware features include a rechargeable lithium-ion battery good for up to 50 min. of recording and a built-in microphone. The camera is available now for about $400.
