2007 NFL Sunday Ticket information They don't actually. The NFL Sunday Ticket is MPEG2 on DirecTV. We all know that their MPEG2 capacity has been over taxed for 2+ years hence the 8 HD channels they have had until recently when they launched the new MPEG4 sattelites. It's purely conjecture at this point.... but all signs point to DirecTV migrating the NFL Sunday Ticket HD to MPEG4 next year in order to be able to broadcast "up to 14" HD games a week (next year ALL NFL games are in HD). Hopefully, this will happen and hopefully, they will have enough bandwidth to allocate 14 dedicated HD channels so every game has it's individual channel. One last hopefully --> BEV follows suit (might not happen until the 2009 season). This year BEV did a pretty good job...all things considered... However, next year, unless they have some major changes to their infrastructure (MPEG4), they will be missing several HD games (probably 3 per week on average).

2007 NFL Sunday Ticket information Why can directv only carry 8 at a time? They claim to have tons of bandwidth don't they
2007 NFL Sunday Ticket information thanks unreal1080p, sounds like something worth looking into.
2007 NFL Sunday Ticket information Number of HD games broadcasted vs actual HD games available Week 01 = 10/11 + 4 national games Week 02 = 11/11 + 2 national games Week 03 = 10/12 + 2 national games Week 04 = 09/10 + 2 national games Week 05 = 10/10 + 2 national games Week 06 = 10/10 + 2 national games Week 07 = 11/11 + 2 national games Week 08 = 10/11 + 1 national game Week 09 = 11/11 + 2 national games Week 10 = 11/11 + 2 national games Week 11 = 11/12 + 2 national games Week 12 = 10/10 + 5 national games Week 13 = 11/11 + 3 national games Week 14 = 10/11 + 3 national games Week 15 = ?/12 + 4 national games Week 11 notes: The missing HD game for week 11 (MIA@PHI) was NOT broadcasted on DirecTV therefore not BEV's fault that they did not have it. Week 14 notes: The missing HD game for week 14 (NYG@PHI) WAS broadcasted on DirecTV and there was NO excuse for BEV not to air this games (besides pure incompetence)... especialy considering they aired the DAL@DET game in triplicate (800,818,465) and with at least 2 different feeds (CTV & FOX). Week 15 notes: All 16 games this week are available in HD (a first in the NFL) but DirecTV is not carrying the Tennessee Titans @ Kansas City Chiefs game in HD (they can only carry 8 simultaneous HD games at once) and therefore it's extremely doubtful BEV will air it. Let's see how many of the other 11 available HD games on DirecTV BEV will carry this week.
2007 NFL Sunday Ticket information Week 3 (Sunday September 23rd) 12/14 games are being broadcasted in HD in week 3 and all 12 HD games are available in HD on DirecTV 1PM Games CH# 723 NFL Minnesota Vikings @ Kansas City Chiefs HD 1PM (FOX) 724 NFL Detroit Lions @ Philadelphia Eagles HD 1PM (FOX) 725 NFL San Francisco 49ers @ Pittsburgh Steelers HD 1PM (FOX) 823 726 NFL St. Louis Rams @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers HD 1PM (FOX) 719 NFL San Diego Chargers @ Green Bay Packers HD 1PM (CBS) 720 NFL Indianapolis Colts @ Houston Texans HD 1PM (CBS) 721 NFL Miami Dolphins @ New York Jets HD 1PM (CBS) 722 NFL Buffalo Bills @ New England Patriots HD 1PM (CBS) 817/800/806 4PM Games CH# 720 NFL Cincinnati Bengals @ Seattle Seahawks HD 4PM (CBS) 822/851 721 NFL Jacksonville Jaguars @ Denver Broncos HD 4PM (CBS) 723 NFL New York Giants @ Washington Redskins HD 4PM (FOX) 818 724 NFL Carolina Panthers @ Atlanta Falcons HD 4PM (FOX) Week 3 SD Games 1PM Arizona Cardinals @ Baltimore Ravens SD ONLY (FOX) 451 4PM Cleveland Browns @ Oakland Raiders SD ONLY (CBS) 454 Looks like BEV will have to use all 6 NFL ST HD channels (465,466,467,468,469 & 470) this week in order to cover all 8 1PM HD games. They have not used channels 469 & 470 so far this year... let's hope they figure it out and use them this week. In case BEV doesn't figure out how to free an additional transponder for channels 469 & 470, my suggestion for the games NOT to carry in HD are (pick 2 out of 3): Detroit Lions @ Philadelphia Eagles and/or St. Louis Rams @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers and/or Minnesota Vikings @ Kansas City Chiefs The other 3 HD games are MUST carry. Week 4 (Preview) (Sunday September 30th) 10/12 games are being broadcasted in HD in week 4 1PM Games CH# ??? NFL Chicago Bears @ Detroit Lions HD 1PM (FOX) ??? NFL Green Bay Packers @ Minnesota Vikings HD 1PM (FOX) ??? NFL N.Y. Jets @ Buffalo Bills HD 1PM (CBS) ??? NFL Oakland Raiders @ Miami Dolphins HD 1PM (CBS) ??? NFL St. Louis Rams @ Dallas Cowboys HD 1PM (FOX) 4PM Games CH# ??? NFL Seattle Seahawks @ San Francisco 49ers HD 4PM (FOX) ??? NFL Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Carolina Panthers HD 4PM (FOX) ??? NFL Denver Broncos @ Indianapolis Colts HD 4PM (CBS) ??? NFL Kansas City Chiefs @ San Diego Chargers HD 4PM (CBS) ??? 2007 NFL Sunday Ticket information Lots of picture stuttering on CBSHE. Unbearable for the Colts-Titans tilt. Was forced to switch to CBSHW.
2007 NFL Sunday Ticket information 3 Games not in HD for the early games today? 2 of them not broadcasted in HD according to DTV, But no love for The Giants/Eagles game !?
2007 NFL Sunday Ticket information Is this what I can expect for the rest of the NFL season? That is very disappointing. Chris
2007 NFL Sunday Ticket information The problem with is that i don't have HD. That's why it would be great if Bell offered the SD Sunday Ticket for somewhere around $100 and a seperate HD subscription for an additional fee, this would keep everyone happy.
2007 NFL Sunday Ticket information So SDTV subs pay more to help out HDTV subs.
