Your destination could complicate an accurate idea of cost but basically if you were to crate/ship by boat to Europe the rental / break even point is about 3 weeks depending on what you would rent.

I was thinking the same thing. 1st it was the hate stage then it was the acceptance stage and now he wants to take it to the next level, the marriage stage. Oh boy, I hope my midlife crisis doesn't strike my brains with that severity. I don't want to come up with crazy ideas like "I wanna ride to Jupiter and back on my Vespa while wearing a G-string".

First you want to sell it, then you want to add a bunch of upgrades, now you want to bring it on planes around the world like a backpack?

What is going on these days?

    I'm from malaysia.

I can help put you in touch with the local duc guys (dealer and/or club). The people who run the club are also the local dealer, and they might be able to help you with the trip planning and paperwork if required. I'd imagine some complications with the customs if you ship your bike here instead of riding it in yourself though.

PM me if you need the contact info. If the riding plan doesnt work, I can always meet you in KL (malaysia capital) for a beer.

    Ok, I'll bite.
You're crazy, just rent a bike at your destinations.
If you somehow figured out a way, just think about where you would keep your bike in these sketchy countries, in your room?

I shipped a bike from O'ahu, HI to Los Angeles, CA for about $500. You have to deal with Hazmat, so no oil or fuel while in transportation.

You would never be able to transport this bike on a commercial passenger flight.

Not sure if anyone done it before or even possible. I am planning a multiple countries (Thailand, Malaysia and China) trips around Sept and wonder if I can bring along my bike?

I am trying to have my Bike actually traveling with me (same flight) rather than have it transported with different method. Will the airline take it?

Seriously will take it if there is a way that will not kill my wallet..
