I feel ya! When my family prays before the big meal, I go and hide
just say you don't want to go. end of discussion.
NO, YOU CANNOT BLAME IT ON YOUR CAT. MEANIE.
Just say no thank you.
Just tell them that you have your own way of celebrating the holiday if they ask. If you love them invite them to join you in your new traditions.
Blame everything on the kids. Can't get a babysitter. edit: Lol sure, blame it on the cat.
If you love and respect them, go. It just might be good for you. What you so afraid of?
blame it on your parents or other family members, say you've already said you'd go visit them or something.
Just go, and promise yourself a drink afterward. It's just an hour out of your life and a relatively small price to pay for family harmony. @ Effie, wouldn't that excuse prevent them from offering food later?
Just go with your in-laws and enjoy your time together, or if it really against your personal values and beliefs to go to church, then just don't go. Presumably you are an adult, and that is your right.
