can't connect to the servers anymore

If you're using older clients, you need to upgrade!!!! CLIP2 is no longer providing host caches, so clients like Bearshare 2.2.4 can't connect using the default servers. Time to upgrade.

    FROM CLIP2:

We have discontinued our Gnutella, OpenNap, and JXTA network tracking services. Our Gnutella host cache (gnutellahosts.com:6346) and JXTA rendezvous (jxta.clip2.com:6001 & 6002) services have been discontinued as well. The Clip2 Reflector, a proxy-and-index server for Gnutella, is no longer available for download or supported, and we have discontinued our listing service for public-access Reflectors.

can't connect to the servers anymore

Hmm. I've just tried to log on using BearShare, and can't seem to find any initial router hosts.. My stats page shows zero messages recieved, and no results on my routing tables..

    Hmmmm...

can't connect to the servers anymore

    Check out www.gnufrog.com
They keep a list of active gnutella connections; you can get connected to one of those, and then the entire network will be at your fingertips!

can't connect to the servers anymore

I've been using gnutella.hostscache.com as an entry-point for the last few days without any trouble. I hope it's more permanent than clip2 (and stays cross-client).

I cant get it to work either, but I just installed the client. I am right in assuming that napshare connects itself to a server on startup right?

can't connect to the servers anymore

Clip2, who supplied the addresses to Gnutella clients so they can connect to the Gnutella "network" is out of business. That is probably the cause of many of the problems listed above. I remember having to manually type in an IP address of a client already connected back in the day - this would be a workaround - but I can't find a list of addresses anywhere. The Hosts/Servers list on GnutellaNews doesn't seem to work either.

can't connect to the servers anymore

This is happening all over the place at different ISPs for all clients.... Is this somehow the affect of the code red virus??

can't connect to the servers anymore

    Hi there!

We have the same problem, too. Since one week, we cannot connect to gnutella anymore.
Our ISP apparently blocks the gnutella standard port 6346. I tried to use cache hosts with other ports, but couldn't get any connection with limewire. Does anyone have a solution to this?
