Anyway - back to the steak !
Does anyone know how much that piece of steak would cost ?
I would guess it varies slightly depending on where in the country you would buy it from though.

Jamies 30 Minute Meals - Deja Vu ?

I don't think the issue is whether JO is product placing, or getting stuff for free: it's really whether he's using ingredients or creating recipes because he's being paid to do so. (And I don't think that's the case.)

But I know what you mean about the cost Andy! These 30-minute meals aren't always the cheapest you could lay on your table day-by-day.

That said, I'm very much enjoying this series and the book's a good accompaniment.

Don't get me wrong - I don't have a "problem" with him geting all these things for free.
I suppose I am a bit envious because I really want to cook all his recipes, but I can't afford the expensive things like the steak !
I think Jamie is the celeb chef whose food I would cook the most of !

Jamies 30 Minute Meals - Deja Vu ?

I really don't see any problems on all the points you made.

Steak sandwich - his version this time is so different from his Naked Chef days the only same thing is the use of rocket leaves, check youtube if you can find them or just google it. It might be an expensive cut (although depenRAB where you buy the steak) but it's not as if you will eat it daily or all the time.

So Jamie is given products by various companies, what's the problem, it's a very common advertising practice, surely you should know that.

Probably a 'win win' situation for all concerned. Lurpak sponsor the show. The olive oil companies obviously don't need to.

    So that's a "yes" then !
I bet the companies fall over themselves to get their produce on his - and other chefs - shows (product placement and all that)

Jamies 30 Minute Meals - Deja Vu ?

Is a meal that takes a chef 30 minutes to cook supposed to be some sort of amazing revelation to the public?

Of course he's done these recipes, or similar on previous shows. You can't really blame him for adapting them to this '30 minute' format. I think Jamie is on a mission to have people sit down and enjoy the ceremony of preparing and serving up good food at the table.

As for the OP's question as to whether Jamie gets everything for free on the show, don't forget JO is an empire, he's on the Rich List and will probably be further up same list after this show, if feedback and book sales are anything to go by.
