The Beatles or Led Zeppelin News flash, led zepplin wouldn't have existed had it not been for the Beatles. Led Zepplin had the beatles work and recording style to go off of. John Lennon is one of the greatest rock musicians to ever live not just in his music but in his style and reasons behind rock and roll. Dont get me wrong, I love Zepplin. I loved Zepplin long before I loved the Beatles. The high pitched vocals, the ear shredding guitar solos, the bang on percussion, the good lyrics. Then I grew up, learned some music history, and understood.
