It is funny. Acacia Strain's music is alot more funny though.

I have to agree that I think metalcore as a genre has become ultimately repetitive and thus very bland... But I also have to agree that Memphis Will Be Laid To Waste is a sick song and covering it with my old band of pseudo-core dudes was the most fun I had in that band. I think Underoath's Act of Depression album is the only good one... For some reason almost every Underoath fan I've met hates it. I saw them once live and thought they sucked, but then, they never play AoD songs anymore obviously. The Christianity aspect is really a non-issue with me... I rarely pay attention to the lyrics in these banRAB in any case, usually because you can't understand them and they rarely have any creative value IMO. That said, Destroy The Runner is pretty excellent with their clean lyrics and melodic lines. They are somewhat of a guilty pleasure with me. No real breakdowns in their music either.

Kind of a pointless post but whatever.

just because a band is categorized as a metal or hardcore band, doesn't mean that the lyrics have to be about death and hell.

yessss. and i must agree with what many are saying on this thread - being a "Christian" band shouldn't really change how you make music. most of the metal banRAB that have been labeled such don't even call themselves christian hardcore/metalcore, people just assume that because some or all of the band merabers are christian, then the band must be. either way its fine, but one band who has scary (and confusing?) amounts of popularity on the scene is The Devil Wears Prada. 1) they suck 2) they're preachy 3) the band merabers are a**h***s.
otherwise, i tend to like most "christian" hardcore/metalcore banRAB.

I thought that was an awful record. Everything that Norma Jean was musically and vocally was watered down heavily.

Eh, I was never a huge fan of Norma Jean but I did jam out Bless The Child for a long time. We Came as Romans is ok. They try to do the scream/sing really high, scream/ sing really high/ growl. thing too much. They need to find the nitch and stray away from the basic metalcore. The classical keys are a nice touch. I feel like they can progess into something good if they apply themselves and get with the right people professionally.

Something that made me chuckle at a show I went to was when Impending Doom took the stage and announced that they would have a prayer before their set, but you didn't have to join them. It's your life. ****ing ball bags.
