it just seems to me that any repair an amateur does on a speaker is going to compromise quality.

This ^........maybe go to the Goodwill or some other used store and see if you can find a speaker that might work.

repairable from what i can see (i cant see the inside so i could be wrong). you just need a new diaphragm (the thin paper like black cover on the outside) - should work ok if the rest the internals are ok... although if you are replacing the diaphragm it isn't out of the question to just buy new speakers.

All the speaker fluid has probably drained as well.

I think this site still sells it. Might have to click around though.

You'll probably have to swap the driver.

neoprene might work. my friend had a hole in his 15" and used my wetsuit repair neoprene to seal it.

    Speaker Repair

so this past sunday i woke up to find that someone really fracked with my speakers that hang out in our apartment living room. Noone else was in our house that night so i assume it was on of my roomates who is a prick and gets wasted and fracks with people stuff, and steals shit.
no evidence it was him but his track record is certainly against him.

so this is the damage done, looks like someone took a lighter to it.
the system still works but this one sounRAB like shit

any suggestions on how to go about fixing this?
