I judge it as words coming from a book, which has absolutely no meaning for me.

It means, "I have no evidence to back up what I'm saying, so I'll try to scare you into believing by basing the claim on an invisible, all-powerful judge".

it appears to be saying that if a person rejects Christ and doesn't believe in His teachings, then God will judge them for it.

It's saying that if you reject Jesus and His message you will be judged. All roads don't lead to heaven.. Jesus is the only way.
