How can I stop my cat from lounging on the cable box? When we got a new cable box my cat discovered that it made a really nice warm bed. We knew it wasn't the best place for her but the way we have it set up the cable box is on a lower shelf (it's just a small little TV table and the flat screen TV fits the entire top of the table, no room for a cable box). It can't be good as far as getting fur and dirt dropped down into it & she's also been getting her claws stuck in it, which looks massively painful. How can I break her of the habit? I thought of using her spray bottle but I don't want to spray electronics with water. I'd try the "pennies in a can" trick to startle her, but she's pretty stubborn when she finds a nice warm place to sleep. She has to be if she's willing to tear out a claw or two for this spot. Any ideas? Are we just going to have to invest in a different sort of shelving space?
