the title says it isnt funny. didnt have to read the joke. "more really silly pet jokes" tells me really dumb jokes that my dad would tell for 5 years.
I think the end is missing. Something like, "No he didn't bite me, but he tasted me."
Why is this joke funny? I found it in an animal joke book called "More Really Silly Pet Jokes."? I've looked over it for a long time and cannot figure it out. Here's the joke, verbatim: Four-year-old Bubba was very afraid of dogs. Hoping to cure him of his fear, his father walked him over to a neighbor, who owned a very gentle old poodle. The dog looked up as the mother and son came near. "Hold out your hand," Bubba's mother said quietly. Hesitantly, the boy did as he was told. The dog looked up, lifted its head, then extended its tongue and dragged it across Bubba's hand.
