What do you think about Eureka 7?

I think next week they are gonna be making repairs to the Gekko in some cave, after they leave there things start to really pick up. Renton grows up alot in the comming weeks.

Patience people, patience. Enjoy the interactions and the daily life aboard the Gekko State. For what its worth there are no real HUGE secrets anyone is keeping from Renton. Granted some big stuff is about to happen, but the real shockers happen much, much later on. The point here is not to keep the audience in the dark waiting for the OMG WORLD-CHANGING REVELATION but to simply reveal the realities of the world at a leisurely pace as Renton matures and changes.

Really how do you know, did you find out its ratings? I'd be interested in a link to em if you could. It just surprises me thats all.

Plus it sucks that all the new anime is on saturdays, really doesn't give them a fair chance does it.
not sure of the exact number, but this week was below 175,000

starting this week, they're pushing it to the end of the lineup. i'm starting to think they may not pick up more episodes.

And does anyone else have the impression that they don't really have 50 episodes of story here and are trying to stretch things out to compensate?
I've only watched the first 5 episodes, the rest are recorded waiting for me, but I was annoyed by all the mystery only that far through, and they've STILL not even hinted at answers to the bigger questions? Hrrm.

    I thought
that besides the color and style of their hair they looked exactly alike. And their personalities were pretty opposite, almost like they could be parts of one entity that was separated.
But that's just speculation, so yeah.
As for the "look-alike" line, I thought that Anemone was merely refering to Nirvash's appearance. Also remember Renton's line "It looks like the Nirvash!"
But what about
when Anemone meets Renton in the dream? What did you people make of that? To me, it was as if Anemone tried to get Renton to come with her, as if Renton's role in the overall objectives of the two factions is far greater than just "tagging along for the ride." I have a feeling that we may see some more of Anemone trying to acquire Renton, but ofcourse, like my last thought, this is basically just speculation.
Yeah, his constant stupidity is pretty annoying. I don't think the creators did that great of a job giving him a very good "14 year-old" personality. I mean, I'm 14. All of my 14 year-old friends and I would agree that none of us act like Renton. But then again, we never were taken in by our heroes and on a ship travelling around the world running from the military in huge mechs. I'm sure if I were in that type of situation, I'd be pretty preoccupied and timid like Renton. But you never know.

Well, it is a 50-episode series instead of a 26-episode one, so you can't expect too much for answers less than a third of the way through.

That being said, I must agree that they are playing their cards too close to their chests. Being too vague and secretive for too long can be a detriment to a series (see RahXephon), even a longer one.

Well, from my understanding the series doesn't really pick up until shortly after episode 10. I haven't seen that far either, of course I'm still enjoying what I've seen of the series so far anyways so it's not a big deal for me.

E7... this has to be one of the oddest shows I've seen recently. It doesn't really fit into any category except shounen adventure. I watched the subs and to be honest, I hated the show for the first 10ish episodes, but my roomate kept saying how good it was so I kept watching. It wasn't until about eps 20ish that I started to get into the show, and that's only because the show finally started to go somewhere. At episode 20, I would still put the show on MAYBE the second episode of a 13 episode series plot-wise. I don't inherently have a problem with this, hell I watched all of Inu Yasha.

A lot of people downplay Renton's stupidity, I don't like this. He may not whine as much as Shinji, or be as stubbornly stupid as Shinn... but that doesn't mean he doesn't do it more than is tasteful. I have a pretty high tolerance for shows that I've gotten more than a few episodes into, I think I've finished nearly every show I've seen 7 episodes of unless I didn't have access to the rest. Despite that, I almost quite watching because of just how incredibly stupid Renton is. He does NUMEROUS things without thinking in the slightest and just about every time he gets himself into hot water, even then he rarely seems to relent. I can completely understand wanting to be right, I know I was one of the most stubborn teenagers I knew, but judging from what he does and how he reacts to situations Renton has to be retarded. At 8 years old I knew better than to do many of the things he did.

I DID however really enjoy Renton and Holland's relationship, this was almost definitely the most realistic relationship in the show. When dealing with most situations I could not comprehend how Renton could be such a dumbass... but when dealing with Holland the clear change in motivations made him seem much more tolerable and convincing as a real person. I gave this show a 9/10 despite Renton and the kids, mostly for the satisfying and conclusive ending.
