    A Short Synopsis
Anna is not sick, but she might as well be. By age thirteen, she has undergone countless surgeries, transfusions, and shots so that her older sister, Kate, can somehow fight the leukemia that has plagued her since childhood. The product of preimplantation genetic diagnosis, Anna was conceived as a bone marrow match for Kate - a life and a role that she has never questioned… until now. Like most teenagers, Anna is beginning to question who she truly is. But unlike most teenagers, she has always been defined in terms of her sister - and so Anna makes a decision that for most would be unthinkable… a decision that will tear her family apart and have perhaps fatal consequences for the sister she loves. My Sister's Keeper examines what it means to be a good parent, a good sister, a good person. Is it morally correct to do whatever it takes to save a child's life… even if that means infringing upon the rights of another? Is it worth trying to discover who you really are, if that quest makes you like yourself less?

    My Sister's Keeper

I was a complete and total mess reading this book.....I don't know if I can brave going out into public and watching this movie. Same reason I avoided Marley and Me also.....

    My Sister's Keeper

I am still debating whether or not to go to the theaters to see this movie. I read the book and I adored it. I cried so much. I have a strong feeling when I see the movie I will do the same.

    My Sister's Keeper

Well, I was hoping they would go into the whole thing with Jesse starting fires, and his dad being a fire fighter. Not him drinking or doing drugs.

I mean, it kind of seemed like they implied that in the film, maybe? But it certainly wasn't ever talked about or explored.

^ I will do the same as well

Seriously i cried at the end

But i heard they might have changed the ending, so i dont really know how its going to be

I love the fact that its Abigail Breslin as Anna - she's great

    My Sister's Keeper

I was hoping that they'd mention the fact that Jesse was starting fires. I thought that was an interesting storyline in the book and wanted to see it in the film as well

^ Same here. :/ I always found that really interesting and it made perfect sense for his character, being he felt so ignored and overlooked.

Thanks for mentioning this thread in the book thread, Lennie  I probably never would have known it was here otherwise

    My Sister's Keeper

Yes, on reflection, this was probably one of the better book-to-film adaptations I've seen. Normally, I'm quite fussy, ever since I saw the Beach (Danny Boyle may be a local hero but I really disliked the film).

The point you made about the message of the film is very true,

    My Sister's Keeper

I am glad you loved the book, it is amazing

I did feel for Sara (i felt for each character), [sp]esp when you think about the fact that she was always destined to lose a daughter, but not the one she imagined - she was totally prepared for Kate but not Anna [/sp]

I have said it many times, i also think Abigail is the perfect Anna - she's just so talented actress that will pull of the role amazingly
