Ironic that the Tea Party, with all their anti-socialist rhetoric, are largely driven by an essentially a Marxist ideology when it comes to issues of social class. Pitting regular working-class Americans against this "New Elite" sounds an awful lot like the proletariat vs the bourgeoisie to me... Is this vilification of having an education really all that different from the rhetoric of Mao during the cultural revolution? It's deja vu' all over again. During the Bush Reign or Error, those displaying above average intelligence were scoffed at, ridiculed. Question creationism or GW starting another war? You look suspicious... We have devolved from a meritocracy to mediocracy. It is no longer desirable to have the most intelligent man or woman for the job.
