    all you need to do is multiply out the brackets.
    you solve them by using the FOIL method:

    Firsts: (the first number in each bracket) 3m x 8m = 24m²

    Outsides: (the numbers on the outer edges of the equation) 3m x 7 = 21m

    Insides: (the numbers on the inner edges of the equation) -1 x 8m = -8m

    Lasts: (the last number in each bracket) -1 x 7 = 7

    you then put all the answers together into one equation so:

    24m² + 21m - 8m + 7

    and finally, collect like terms:

    24m² + 13m + 7

    hope i helped

    this completely depends im sorry to tell you..
    But... if your just getting it into simplest form
    multiply 3m-1 by 8m+7 thus becoming 24m² + 21m -8m -7 then you simplify it into 24m² + 13m - 7
    and then there's quadratic formula or completing the square. For Quadratic formula you find A B and C 24=A 13=B -7=C (Why? standard form is ax²+bx+c=0) and quadratic formula is X= -b ± ?(b² - 4ac) (In the radical[ square root]) (through this, X represents 'm') -----------------------
    ( ± = plus/minus) (over 2a) 2a
    thus... X = -13 ± ?(169-168) over 48 Then it's X= -1/4th or 7/24th

    If it's solving for 0 then you split it into 2 halves 3m-1=0 and 8m+7=0 Then you solve for M thus ...
    M= -1/3 or -7/8 /\

    I think the solving for 0 is more accurate... so forget the first part i think... i just dont want to go through and delete my work D:
