Primary is the regular mode you drive in. When you run out of gas, you switch to reserve mode and it has enough gas to get you to a gas station.

You should always ride on primary the reserve takes fuel from the bottom of the tank and should be avoided whenever possible as sediment gathers there that can damage your engine , using it is better than being out of petrol but get topped up and back on primary as soon asap .

    Bubba is a twat.

Pri is only used to prime the carbs when they are empty and you cannot start the engine to get the vacuum fuel valve to open.

Normally the engine runs with the valve in the down position, this way fuel only flows when the engine is running, ther is more than enough in the carbs to start.

Keeping the tap on pri runs a high risk of the engine flooding with petrol especially if the side stand is used.
