Oh yes! The laws protect people from the dishonest not the honest. Companies don't dump into a river or burn because it is fun or easy pal, they do it because it is cheap and no documentation is required. So the bad apples will take advantage and pollute while the best companies will do what is right.
So yes pollution will increase a lot.

There has to be laws protecting environment otherwise disrespectful fools would do whatever was easiest for them despite the effects it would have. Don't underestimate how devious and ignorant people can be.
Too many laws, however, cause a situation like we are in now.
Gov is too big, they are trampling us for their own agenda no matter the cost to us, "We The People". I believe *global warming* is a massive political scare tactic to force us in to buying things and paying for things we do not need, and if we don't, they will tax it out of us anyway...(i.e. Cap and Trade BS).
Gov took over the banking industries, they control our money, gov took over the car industries so they can tell us what to drive or be taxed, education to control what our children learn, healthcare to determine who's worth saving...it will only get worse.
The earth is fine like it is. It will always change, it always has.
It's hysterical to think "man" can save the planet. We need to save our economy. We have massive amounts of god-given natural resources right here to use...let's use them while working on alternatives. The EPA has too much power and has abused it by denying our rights to drill for these resources that everyone still uses and needs! But our gov is forcing us to pay other countries for it. Imagine what a financial independent, strong, prosperous nation we would be if only allowed the job opportunities right here, making and distributing these resources ourselves. No, our air would remain the same as long as realistic laws were in place. It's astounding how the earth can counteract what we put into it or take out of it and how minuscule our impact really is. Don't believe the fabricated lies, they don't want to help us, just themselves at any cost to us.

It costs MONEY --lots of money-- to be environmentally friendly.

Money spent on environmental safeguards, is money that doesn't make it into the PROFIT column.

Now, think about THAT, and you should be able to answer your own question.

    Absolutely.
You're living in some kind of 'La-La' land if you think it would be otherwise.

in the long term it would...most of the laws we have now is because people would do that simply because it was easy and not illegal. Once it wasn't illegal people would start doing it again.

    NO.

If they enforced Strict private property rights there wouldn't be a need for pollution laws.

As you don't have the right to pollute your neighbors property.

Pollution would skyrocket, and many people would die. Seriously. I'm glad we're past the days of Love Canal. I sure don't want to go back.

yes probably. I think so. but we still have too much pollution now

if you look at pictures of the USA in the 1950's and 1960's all its rivers and streams were polluted. the USA was like China is today back then, we made everything for the world

    Yes,

History has already proved this. That is how we got such laws in the first place.
