If two jobs are lost in, let's say, the manufacturing sector. And one job is gained in, let's say, technologies. Then a job has been created. I'm not saying that this is happening, I'm just trying to help you understand the complexity of economics.

Things are not as simple as you try to make them.

I agree, it's because Obama said he will save or create 3 million jobs, it's crap.

The stimulus did nothing but force already planned, and paid for, construction jobs to start earlier, and here in Massachusetts, it hasn't led to ANY new jobs. How many regular workers you know can drive a dumptruck, or an excavator?

USA today is just a rag of a paper that is trying to help further Obama's agenda, in return he wants to make newspapers nonprofit so they can get around taxes, since all of the liberal media is hurting.

I'm still wondering where all the jobs are... since Barack Obama was elected unemployment is still on the rise, and over 2.5 million jobs have been lost.

When Liberals rammed through the porkulus package and said there would be shovel-ready jobs... They were lying.

Barack Obama & congress is still lying everyday to the American people.

any school can teach you math, but you have to pay attention. And i found nothing wrong with the headline, and i understand the message, too. No matter what party is in power, they will always estimate to their advantage, be they repubes or dems. And the opposition party will always protest these numbers. It's the same principle that karl rove used in predicting a mccain win last fall: "the gop will win in november according to my calculations". I think it was reagan who coined the term "fuzzy math" (but it could have been someone else).

Question for a question. Where do you think the unemployment rate would be without the stimulus package. Let's put it this way. If you were sinking at a rate of fifty feet per minute, and you slowed that sinking rate to twenty five feet per minute, you just save yourself twenty five feet. Same as the unemployment rate, it's slowed down, so you can say you save those jobs. Yes you're still sinking but at a lower rate before it stops. This is not going to happen over night, it will be awhile before you see it reverses it self. Maybe this is a little deep for you, but it's as easy as I can make it.
