I don't think there is anyway of getting out of the $200 cancellation fee. Just go to the cell phone carrier you want to switch to and tell them you wanna keep your number and you don't have to call Tmobile. Tmobile will just send you the cancellation fee.

You should not pay them $200 if you have had your account for 3 years because usually there is only a 2 year contract. When you do want to switch, you should just go to the new carrier you are going to get and tell them you want to keep your number. They will port your number and terminate your T-Mobile account.

    Hopes this answers your question.

    tmobile-terrible service?

im planning on switching services, but i wanna keep my number..i cant pay the 200 dollar fee for cancelling tmobile..would there be a way to negotiate to a more reasonable fee?? ive heard people have gotten out of tmobile for 50 bucks.. ive been loyal to themf or 3 years, and dealt with terrible customer service and terrible cell phone service..i wanted to work with tmobile and stick with them, and purchase a new blackberry but they werent willing to help me with any offers..

anyways if i call tmobile first i dont want them to cancel my number and terminate me until im ready to switch services...what should i do or say?
