99 mercury mystique battery problem? I have a 99 Mercury Mystique and one day my battery light came on. It drove fine for a day or so. Then one morning I started the car to let it warm up, and when i came out it was off. The car didn't start back up, so i ran to the store and bought a battery. When I changed it i noticed my cables were melted a little at the terminals. So I replace the cables and the car started up but the battery light was still on. I let it run for awhile, then shut it off and turned it back on. The light then went awhile, but later when i was driving it came on my gauge pod stop working. Started it up after work and it was fine went to the store didn't start up again. Now the battery isn't getting a charge. I am not sure but I don't think it is the alternator. Is it a bad connection some where?
