okay, but the us manufacturing sector is barely increasing, and the next ISM reading may show contraction.

and, companies now do "just in time" shipping. its simply not going to be an engine for job growth.

A good part of US manufacturing is exported to emerging economies that choose to afford better products. That is a matter of choices made.

Well the god damn deficit is on a bell curve now. With this massive cut and all the naughty naughty talk I'd say we're about 30-35 trillion in debt in 10 years.

Construction in the US is a sort of mini version of what the US is. I'm 47 and have been working since I was 16. SO, although I wasn't involved directly all the time hammering nails I have a solid feel of how things are going. Starting around 2000 I saw how our one last industry (construction) was going the way of other industries. Now it is mostly gutted of higher wage skilled occupations, sound familiar?

Damn good explanation. Nothing will change until we prosecute the people who committed fraud and until we clear the bad debt from the system.

Oh, I suspect we pretty much agree on what neeRAB to be done. I was more thinking of how much the debt will increase in 10 years if this is the only cut. The 2.? total cut.

    Thoughts?

We have more changes to make to long term non-discretionary spending. As well as taking a hard look at changing the tax code to maybe bump up revenue a bit while not hurting companies (corporate rates) or the middle class (who are bankrupt).
