Barely visible itchy rash on palms of hands?

Ok so for about 2 or 3 days now I have this itchy rash on the palms of my hands. There are little tiny bumps that are barely visible and they are about the same color as my skin. I have not used any new types of products that would cause an allergic reaction. I went to the doctor yesterday and showed them to her and she gave me some hydrocordizone(sp) cream. The rash seems to be worse on my left hand than on my right and it not all over my palm but it is near the part of your palm nearest to the thumb.
If it was something serious she would have been able to tell by looking at it right? Any thoughts on what this could be? I had unprotected sex last week but don't show any signs of any types of STD's and I have known the man for many, many years and I trust him when he told me he was clean. We know everything about eachother. I was diagnosed with genital herpes about 2 years ago but I'm sure that wouldn't affect the palms of my hands.
Please advise and serious answers only!
