what elso do i need for a 327 chevy engine?

Say i put replace a 283 SBC with a 327 stoked out to a 347 or something like that. I have a 1966 El camino Malibu. I was wondering if i get a high performance motor would i need to get a different axle and all that? Currently it has a 283 small block with a powerglide tranny. i would like to put a nice high performance motor with the original tranny. What else would i need to get to make more power with out anything braking or grinding? Say i get a 383 stroker what else would you recommend getting? Or can i just a 383 stroker and use all the original parts?
