There are very few tv networks that are free from corporate or government control one example is the bbc. The drawback of this unbiased news is that it tends to just state the facts as they occur meaning no foresight. If I want to know what has happened I watch the bbc, if I want to know what is going to happen i will turn to one of these speculators which is similar to this man Americans keep banging on about Beck. I admit i have seen one of his shows about China and on some points he was completely right and people need to be scared into action sometimes.

Sorry to tell you but most people are stupid.

Most people even put their own spin on hard news stories.

Btw, GlennBeck, like him or not he was the first to say the uprisings would spread all around the middle east.

And he was totally right, not that any news person is going to give him any credit.

How many of you know the difference in hard news reporting and commentary?

It is obvious from questions and answers on this forum, that many of you think Rachel Maddow and Glenn Beck are news reporters. They are not and are not represented as such. So when Beck makes a ridiculous statement, it is not Fox News lying. When Maddow makes a ridiculous statement, it is not MSNBC lying. Both networks do have news reporting programs and are usually accurate.

With all due respect to the small cross section of libs, cons and libertarians who are educated, thank you for your indulgence.

    I do.

Maddow, Beck, Hannity, Schultz, etc = commentary

Nameless, faceless anchor = hard news.

There is very little hard news available and you really have to search it out on line as well.

i"ve been around a long long time, and remember well what hard news used to be like. It's a thing of the past, I'm afraid.
