How can I do this vector space proof?

Let S1, S2 be sets in a vector space V. Show that span(S1 union S2) is a subset of span(S1) intersect span(S2). Give an example where the two sets are equal and one where they are not.

This is for my proof based linear algebra class and I'm struggling a little on this assignment. Any help would be awesome.
    *span(S1 intersect S2)
