The range of activities include street parties and family fun days to a picnic in the stately surroundings of Burton Agnes Hall. Sunday afternoon will see a 10km race in Hull to raise money for the Jane Tomlinson Appeal. The weekend will culminate in a flotilla of 60 boats sailing along the Humber Estuary. The Hessle Road Pram Derby takes place at the Humber Bridge on Saturday. The event commemorates life in the west Hull fishing community in the 1920s, when trawlermen's wives would race down to the fish docks on a Friday, with their prams, to pick-up their husband's wages. The tradition was revived a few years ago as a charity event. Sponsored teams now race wearing period costumes. Among the grander locations for the festivities will be Burton Agnes Hall in East Yorkshire. The estate is running a Big Lunch on Sunday, with picnics in the gardens of the 16th Century stately home. Visitors will be able to play games and listen to music. On Monday the Humber Estuary will see a flotilla of 60 boats sailing down the Humber Estuary from Barton-upon-Humber. The fleet will include the restored racing yacht the Ierne, which won gold at the 1920 Antwerp Olympics.
