Is the new Lincoln movie dangerous in its misinformation?

If you ask me I think that Abraham Lincoln Vampire hunter is a more believable portrayal of the American leader.

The movie somehow shows this man as a person who would go to war to free slaves when in fact he is quoted in the largest newspaper at the time as saying

"My paramount object in this struggle is to save the Union, and it is not either to save or destroy slavery. If I could save the Union without freeing any slave, I would do it."

So is this another example of Hollywood playing dangerous games with people's perception of history?

Slavery was illegal throughout the World by 1833 through the slavery abolition act. Yet the Americas continue.
