    By the time you finish reading a poem, it should leave you with an overall emotional feeling...whether good or bad, it will have some sort of 'feeling' impact on you.

    The best description depends on your topic. I mean I truly like the sound of the word expression how ever if you are talking about something that would not accept the word as the best to use with the topic well then,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

    You might want to give us a few lines so we can see how it works best to describe tone. I have faith you will work it out.
