2000 Honda Odyssey EX Van transmission rebuild or ?

Van has 205,000 miles on it and everything else works perfect. I love every single aspect of this van. The transmisssion just started slipping and now not engaging at all. I was told to put in a rebuilt one would be in the $3000 range. I live near Nashville, Tn. Has anyone made this decision themselves, to rebuild .......or scrap? I am really torn as the prices of a comparable vehicle are all so high. But then how smart can it be to put that much mponey in an older vehicle. The body and interior, tires, heat, AC all work great. I did not ask the garage that has it but are rebuilt transmissions ever covered by a warranty. Thanks so much for your thoughts and experiences. Patricia
