How would you train for hiking the WHOLE Appalachian Trail? Hi. I'm currently a sophomore in college thinking about being a thru-hiker for the Appalachian Trail right after I graduate college. My university has a trimester system, and I'm going to graduate 2 trimesters early to do this (and save some of my parents' money haha). As a full-time student taking full loads of classes, what would you recommend I do to prepare? Also keep in mind that I'm gunning for internships in the summers between academic years, so I may not be able to do full-blown trial hikes in the summer either. If everything goes as planned, I would start on the GA end and head northwards in early January 2015.
