Doctor Patient Confidentially and Suicide: Can my Doctor tell my parents?

I understand that if I confess thoughts, plans and intentions of suicide to my GP (General Practitioner) that she is required/allowed by law to tell authorities including a mental health team, hospital or the police... but is she allowed to tell my parents if I am over the age of 18 (specifically, 20) years old?

I live in Australia but I am also curious to know what the law states in other countries as a reference?

I do also currently live at home with my parents.
