Bell TV: Moving to another home questions

If you were just calling TV, you would give them about 4-6 weeks before the install date at the new place.

You should call 310-bell to have move orders done for all services at once.

It should NOT affect your current services. You could put the account on temporary programming suspension if it were going to be longer than 6 weeks. That should not affect any of your discounts. If you don't want the suspension, your billing will continue on as if she were getting the signal.

Make sure that you get a time frame for the installation date. If it's done right, they will give you a morning, afternoon, or evening time frame. If they tell you that your time frame is "all day", then there could be something wrong with the order.

    I will answer what I can for you;

Bell recently changed the rules for Move Orders. If a Customer has an HD Receiver ALL receivers (SD & HD) on the account are installed net free, meaning, you might pay $50 for the extra lines but will get a Credit on your next bill.

As they are now using DPP LNBF's they will probably NOT use an SW44, they will install the DPP LNBF and run 2 lines, 1 for the 3100 and 1 for the 9242, this receiver will also get a DPP Seperator behind the unit.

Bell TV: Moving to another home questions

Newbie here. I currently have BEV with an old 2700 receiver in a rental. We are moving to a brand new rental that has the external wiring for satellite and internal wiring for Shaw cable. I will keep the existing receiver for the basement, but would like to hook up 3 new receivers on the main floor (living room and 2 bedrooms). I am considering buying a new receiver and renting 2 others. Not considering HD at this time.

    Questions:
    1) Wiring. How much new wiring/outlets will need to be done on the main level? I'm assuming that the existing Shaw cable outlets can't be used.
    2) Multiplexer. When I scheduled the move, I was told I would need a multiplexer to run up to four receivers. How complex is the setup for this and can I do it myself?
    3) Any other problems I might run into?

All I'm worried about is creating new holes/outlets which might not be ok with the landlord. I'm asking here before I approach the landlord (and appear to be smart).

    Thanks.

Excellent point. Yes we run into more problems with Moves, when the customers called Bell and not Express Vu.

I guess you should have taken the switch. I guess the person that said not to trust ExpressVu with their installs was right.

I was planning on pulling the SW44 foresure. You mean a 3rd cable off of the SW44 correct? I know i only have 2 cables coming from the dish itself.

    thanks,
    brad.

Bell TV: Moving to another home questions

    Hi there

My elderly mother is moving from her home in one Ontario city to another to be closer to family. I have had some issues of my own dealing with Bell (and Rogers) in the past and am only too aware of what a nightmare can occur to one

Dish and first receiver is installed FREE OF CHARGE no matter if you are RENTING or if you PURCHASED

Ther would be a 50$ charge for the install of each additionnal receiver, EVEN IF YOU ARE RENTING

If you plan to install a second receiver in the near future might as well get it done on that same call. A tech will cost you 75$ if you call him in a few weeks to install an additionnal unit while it would only cost 50$ if you do it at the same time

Install the receiver next to a window or on a balcony if possible that way you can clear up the snow in the winter and make sure you have less interruption possible due to weather condition

You have a 90 days warranty on that installation. If you are not satisfied of the signal or if you frequently loose signal make sure to call BellTV whithin that period. They will send a second technician FREE OF CHARGE to correct the issue

I just put in a move order through the retentions line. They put in two separate orders for the same day - the first to move my existing service, and the second to install an HD PVR, which is going to be a free rental for one year. In the end, the goal is to have the entire cost covered by Bell - but we will see about that.
