i think your iphone is locked with some other network in other countries due to this it wont accept your vodafone sim ..To fix this you have to unlock your iphone first ..You can easily unlock your iphone with the help of providers like Superunlockcodes.com here they will unlock your iphone using remote unlocking service for affordable cost ..After unlocking your iphone you can freely use it with any GSM sim in Australia....
