okay, poor wording, I don't like investing in an expensive television and HD receiver and then the SD packages are just as expensive (if not more) than the HD packages. I guess that was my point. I think you should get what you pay for, meaning HD packages should cost more and SD packages should cost less. That just seems like common sense to me. But I know there's politics involved.

The channels you see in RED in all channels are the ones that you should be able to subscribe to individually using your remote if your receiver is connected to a phone line. The channels that require subscription to a theme pack you do not have will not show up.

Is CBC Montreal news even in HD? What would be the use of these channels I really dont get it as this has nothing to do with simsubing? Is something big in HD coming from these channels? Are all the local news from these stations possbily doing a HD shift?

mondo, you can't say you're getting ripped off by paying for a channel in SD and in HD, because you don't know the cost structure being paid by your provider. Many channels require the provider to pay them a per subscriber fee for the SD as well as for the HD feeds.

CH 853 GOLFHD is gone. Its simply not there. I can see all the channels I am not subscribed to and 853 is gone.

Bell sucks, I am switching. Sooo tired of their crappy service.

    +1 on that!
What a colossal waste of bandwidth, and I would imagine the PQ will go from bad to worse.
Like most I was hoping for some specialty channels to appear.

I'm curious to find out where on the channel lineup these channels are going to be. Specifically CBC Montreal, SunTV, and the two Calgary stations. Everything from 800 - 834 is currently used. Are these going to be in the 790's or maybe they will start with the 1000's? Where do they plan on putting these channels, or is a major reshuffling on the way?

Wow this reeks of Bell bowing to the pressure of the networks - maybe this is the trade off instead of the FFC?

This way, they will be able to claim (CTV Calgary as an example) that they're now carried on almost all BDU's, thus allowing them to charge even more for their rates?

Otherwise, what's the point of adding these channels that are almost identical to the other's except local news?

Where's BIG TEN HD, Speed HD, CNN HD, just to name a few
