You can check for the changed IP using Ip-details.com and confirm it.
You shouldn't need a static IP for gaming. If you really do, you can fake it with a dynamic DNS. This will point the traffic to your dynamically assigned IP address. search for dynamic dns for several vendors, including some free ones.
