Could I use a Blackberry Torch from AT&T on the T-Mobile network if I unlocked it?

Would I still be able to get 3G once I put my T-Mobile GSM Sim Card in it or would it only let me get up to EDGE network? I purchased a Blackberry Bold 9700 but the Torch looks amazingly cool...I really want to buy it but I'm already in a contract with T-Mobile and they're not offering the phone. Anyone know if I could use it with T-Mobile and their 3G?
