Should I be a special education teacher or a speech therapist?

I'm a senior in high school and I'm torn between speech language pathologist and special education teacher. I job shadowed a speech language pathologist that worked in schools and I really liked it and I found it very interesting. I also spent a few days at a special education school that my grandma worked at and I loved it so much. Seeing the smiling faces of those kids and being able to talk to them was so much fun, and I knew right then that I want to work with kids/teenagers/young adults with special needs. I'm just not sure which route to take. Slp's get paid a lot more, get to work with all different kinds of people, and there are many many job oppurtunities. But special education teachers don't have to go to school as long, and get to spend more time with the students. I don't know if its possible, but if i could i would major in SLP and minor in special esucation.. Can anyone help me with this? Thank you!!
