Historically, what delineates an arquebus from a matchlock? In all the various books I go through the arquebus is mentioned frequently as a distinct and earlier entity form matchlock muskets, but despite searching I can't find any reliable information on what the difference is and when it came about. Can anybody point me in the right direction? Thanks, and sorry for messy English
