No, you can get unlocked phones from any online or cell phone store. An unlocked phone will work with an GSM network. Only locked phones restrict to one particular network.I had a locked phone and unlocked it using the remote unlock service from Wickedunlock.com and then I was able to use my iPhone 4s overseas as well.
Will the iPhone 4s unlocked work with T-mobile network? And is Apple the only store itself that will sell an unlocked iPhone? Or can I buy one from a reseller such as Best Buy or Walmart?
