Your last statement says it all. They are all in it together. the Republicans can call for something all they want. It means nothing. The conservatives I know want him to make a statement in support of fair honest elections and nothing more.
Sorry, I don't read rants if they are longer than one paragraph.
Au Contrare that would be the Dumbocrats
The reason it is so extremist right now is that public meetings could only take place in mosques, once there the clerics indoctrinated them to the point of fanaticism so when the Shah was deposed the Ayatollahs were already in control of the people.
Not to nitpick, but you are wrong on the premise that Iranian oil makes it way into America. Iran's oil infrastructure has been deteriorating for years and as such they have been reliant on their number one customer for capital to update their oil industry, China. This is why the idea of Iran actually having a nuclear power plant or two makes sense (provided they were actually using it for energy as opposed to wiping Israel off the map)..... This is a country awash in oil that has to import coal for its electricity. You are right about the CIA overthrowing Mossadegh and no it did not happen under Truman. It was proposed while he was in power but wasn't approved until Ike was President.
Except that you're leaving out the whole Carter chapter, which fvcked it up to the point where any possible repair attempts were futile.
You forgot to mention that this coo was planned when Harry S Truman was the president. Last time I checked he was a Democrat.
You left out something. Folks, do educate yourself. This was a leader who was supporting Germany during WWII. DO the research. "Reza Shah's son Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi, came to power during World War II, when British and Indian forces from Iraq and Soviet forces from the north occupied Iran in August 1941. Iran was a vital oil-supply source and link in the Allied supply line for lend-lease supplies to the Soviet Union, and the allies were concerned over the then-Shah's tacit pro-German sympathies. The next month the British forced Reza to abdicate in favour of his pro-British son Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi, who ruled until 1979." Educate yourselves, folks. On all sides of the issue. What intervention are we Repubs calliing for exactly? For the most part I just hear them saying that Sheik Al' Obama should basically give a firm opinion on democracy, they aren't saying we should attack and take over the election. But as we have witnessed from his apology '09 tour O doesn't have a backbone to stand firm behind anything except blaming America for the worlds woes.
Republicans don't want government intervention in their lives, but they want it in everyone else's lives.
