    Chris

I'm looking for a wind map?

I like to fly my stunt kite, and I find the beach is the best place with ocean winds and such, but it's a 30 minute drive. I'm looking for a weather map of the nsw hunter region, between maitland and newcastle, that compares wind speeds.
Failing that, any experiences with how to find windy areas would help. Like, climb mountains, avoid forests. Things like that.
    As stated-
    State: NSW
    Region: Hunter
    Nearest main suburbs: Maitland, Newcastle.
I don't think more info than that should really be necessary, but Williamtown is a nearby airbase

I'm not sure exactly how to read that data, but it does sound like something close to what I want.
    The closest I've found is http://www.bom.gov.au/australia/charts/viewer/index.shtml?type=windbarb&level=10m&tz=AEDT&area=N SW&model=A&chartSubmit=Refresh+View
However that only gives current conditions over all of NSW with no suburbs marked.

Next time I go to the beach I'll look for some kite flyers, but last time I was there there weren't any, just kite surfers.
