Why are the pro-gun people trying to distract us from the real issues by talking about mental health?

After Columbine, it was video games. The NRA said that guns weren't the problem, but kids were playing violent video games on the internet and learning to become violent. So we didn't change our gun laws, and we had a few more massacres over the years.

This time the excuse isn't video games, it's mental health. Let's see if we are gullible enough to believe it.
