    Yes,ofcourse you will have to.Because its not a contract phone.Only locked phones have the fclity that you ask for,where the network provider subsidises for the customer.But then you will not be able to switch networks in a locked phone.The specialty in unlocking a phone is that if we unlock it the user is able to switch networks, avoid data roaming, high resale value for the phone. Recently I unlocked my Blackberry using the unlock code from unBBlock.com and removed the network lock permanently.
