Why would they dump Harley Davidson?

They dumped them due to poor performance. Looks like the state did its homework and compared motorcycle brands and Harley lost out:

This is what smart purchasers do. They simply dont "ride what you like and dont worry about anyone else"

Also in the news.... Looks like HD is finally going to start making liquid cooled engines. Hopefully, for the companies sake, they dont botch it and start making motorcycles that can compete with foreign competition:

@Strech... Dude, read the ENTIRE article and stop trying to pick your argument points. The bottom line is that they leased the BMWs because they outperformed and were cheaper than the harleys. Obviously, its a trial run but Im sure they will ultimately replace the entire fleet because of the cost difference and the gains in performance. I absolutely loved the comments:

"It really would be better if they bought American-made, because it does help the economy in many different ways," she said.

"I'm sure they've done all their research on why they chose to go in the direction they did, but they've been riding Harley bikes for a long time, and it would be nice to see them continue that."

... this is typical harley banter. Better products are cheaper and perform better, but you should stick with harley because its American made and tradition. All I can say is wow.....
