I am being tested for Lymphoma and have to wait 8 weeks to see a

Haematologist...Is that safe? I have enlarged abnormal appearing lymph nodes under my left armpit (although I can't feel them) that have been biopsied and found a relatively high cd4 to cd8 ratio.I have breast cysts ,liver cysts ,ovary cysts ,fluid in my pouch of douglas and a vitamin D deficiency. The doctor has referred me to a Haematologist but I have to wait 8 weeks for an appointment! Is this too long to wait if it is Lymphoma? I have no other symptoms of Lymphoma eg night sweats ,weight loss etc. Any advice ?

If you prefer not to wait, I would recommend finding a LYMPHOMA specialist in your area. . If you feel uncomfortable waiting and want answers, go with another oncologist, but ensure he/she is a Lymphoma specialist. I don't know if 8 weeks will make a difference, but if it were me, I wouldn't wait. It's much too long. I would take a proactive approach and find a Lymphoma specialist who can see me right away.

Good luck to you.

I think waiting 8 weeks for anything in relation to cancer or it's treatment is too long. A trick that I have tried that worked was to ask your current oncologist, since he/she seems to be too busy to see you right away, that he/she recommend a second one, explaining you are suffering with anxiety by waiting and wish to get seen sooner. You don't really WANT another oncologist, but you might speed up the one you have.
