Need info on a Motorola Android tablet?! PLEASE HELP!!! PLEASE ANSWER!!! REALLY NEED HELP!!!!!?

So I'm 13, my 14th birthday is in 8 days and I asked my mom for an iPad 1 for my birthday. But, someone told me about the Motorola Android Tablet soon after and I need info!!! What kind of wi-fi does it use? I don't use Verizon, only AT&T for phone and Internet (use simple terms please, I don't know techy words) What kind of gift cards do I use for getting apps, music, videos, etc. Is there a way to read e-books on them? How is it better than the iPad like several people said? I'm using this for consumer uses, reading, entertainment, etc. PLEASE HELP ME!!! THANKS!!!
